Guess what, the sink drain is blocked again and water nearly went into my new dishwasher from the drain.

12m of pipe is a prime candidate for a fatberg. Maybe you need a cleaning eye at the end of the pipe.

There are three removable caps that can be unscrewed. I have put a high pressure hose along the whole pipe. I have run hot water and detergent along the whole pipe. I have put caustic soda in four times. I have put boiling water and detergent in twice.
I think it might be OK, but I won't really be sure.
The original plumber put in a T junction which I have removed and run another pipe instead.

You can get water especially pressurised through a small hole the size of a hose but if you are still getting blockages it might be better to push/pull something through to make sure you've got the full 40mm or whatever clear.

The pipe is 51mm inside. I could buy a new pipe but I shouldn't have to.
My new dishwasher leaves everything wet, with little bits of food on everything. I am not having much luck.
Everyone assures me that it needs a cold water connection. I don't have any rinse aid because my 30 years old Simpson never needed any.

Did your 30 year old machine have an exposed heating element in the bottom?
Some old machines used the element to dry dishes. Newer ones just use the heat of the last rinse. Rinse aid or white vinegar helps with plastics that don't retain much heat. If you're using tablets don't use short wash cycles.

My new dishwasher now works well using rinse aid.
