Washing Machine -Top or Front load?

There is no need to bend to load the machine as I have mounted the front loader on a bench and that gives space on the floor for other less used items, and being in Auckland paying for water the front loader is better . Plus I only use the short wash and fill the machine everything comes out clean as most clothes washing is to remove body sweat

Yes , you are correct. Building a plimth, [spelling er] to raise the height is a great idea, however one has to do it very well, otherwise you get a lot of noise and vibration.

Probably 90+% of installations of top loader washing machines are floor mounted & most houses are not designed otherwise unless you are setting it all up for front loader clothes & dryer combo only
