We purchased a 21" Ego self propelled 56V model. Does everything our old Lawnmaster petrol mower did, but lighter, easier to use, quieter and being self propelled it just powers up slopes, and runs for up to 45 minutes on a charge, depending on how wet and long the grass is. Reliability has been the issue however as after a very short time the self propel function crapped out and we had hell of a problem getting it fixed under warranty, like 10 weeks in a repair shop and they still couldn't tell us when it would be fixed. Mitre 10 came to the party and gave us a new mower. Another customer had issues with the warranty people, and Mitre 10 ended up giving him a new mower too. Will see how the reliabilty goes with this one. Wifey loves the EGO concept thought, easy to start, quiet, light, first time ever she now volunteers to mow the lawns!

not smelly / onlt good for short grass / lasts only 20mins / 3hrs battery recharge

Thank you very much indeed for your comments, we went to Mitre 10 last weekend to check out the variou makes, came home with the Ego pamphlet, still undecided. Mitre 10 staff say they’re selling a lot of these electric mowers but with section sizes getting smaller thats probably understandable. Chris.f, your experience doesn’t engender a lot of confidence, thank you for sharing. Wondering now if we’ll simply stick with the petrol mower!

Bought a Das Garten 120v from Mitre 10 to replace my petrol push mower (John Deere commercial) so the wife would have something easy to use around the garden where the ride-on can't fit and I was very surprised. It has way more power than the petrol mower it replaced, it cuts anything. Goes for about 40 mins, but I've never run it out of power.
If you're spending more than 45 minutes pushing a mower. you need a ride on :)
