Central ducted heatpumps (electric)

Does anyone have one? Are these expensive to run? Can these be used as the only source of heating in a 110 sqm house? We are looking at a house with this heating so are wondering if we would need to add more heating which we would add another heat pump

That system should be rated to heat the whole house, and provide you a massive electricity bill, if not insulated well. good luck.

A ducted system is designed to heat the whole house or part of the house where it is fitted. You should need no other form of heating. IMO the ultimate in heating options because it gives you full climate control to heat or cool the whole house in summer and winter as you choose. If you are unsure on the running costs you could try and ask the vendor what their power bills are like in summer and winter.

We had an old system eg late 90s in our old property 170sqm and it was fantastic but very expensive to run .
Power bills over 600 wasn't unusual for a household with two people.

Ok thanks all. I will check with the agent to see what they say about the running of it.

The agent will tell you exactly what you want to hear.

Ours cost about $11,000 2013 but heats the while house 250sq2. New house so well insulated. May cost more if your are ot well insulated. Winter bill about $450 but we have 7 in the family.( 4 teenagers) Summer just under $200 and we do use the air-conditioning when it gets abve 26 degrees.
Best investment I evey made.

Friends had one in their 4 year old 360 sq.m house. Power was never over $200. Mind you there was only 2 of them and they installed the largest unit available so it was never working hard. Think it cost 15k,
