Interesting problem for a Sparky

Std-ish 3 bedroom 70's house
One row of 3 power points has died at the front of the house
All fuses have been out & checked ok
Nothing else dead in the house

A hint might be that the dishwasher/ disposal unit has rocker switches directly above on the wall & theres a twin power socket above that but the power sockets are ok

Outlets commonly wired like a daisy chain, one after another from the supply. Then a possibilty could be a wire disconnect in that chain. The trick is to find it.

Are you talking porcelain rewireable fuses? if so how did you check them, did you just look at the wire or did you pull at the wire to make sure it hasn't just parted in the centre, a short circuit will splatter the copper wire and be obvious whereas an overload will melt the wire in the centre and may not be visible.

Time to call a sparky me thinks. I’ve seen a few rewireable fuse bases now where the cabling in the base of the fuse base burns. If more than 1 phase may have lost 1 phase.
So time to call a sparky.
But as above. Pull hard on the fuse wire to make sure it’s not broken.

Mostly auto fuses with a few wire fuses.
Auto fuses were operated a few times before reseating
Yes checked the wire was intact by pulling on each side in case it had blown & welded it's self in the center
No strange smells in/around the main board/fuses

Yea thats what I am thinking that it's a mouse chew job behind the dishwasher somewhere.
Still a mystery why only those specific power points don't appear to have a fuse allocated.
You would think that if it was a mouse job, that when it broke, it would have at least toasted the mouse (& resulting stench) & probably tripped a fuse.
Time to start opening those powerpoints off the wall & removing the dishwasher for a cavity search.
Power off of course.
Don't need to toast myself. aye

LOL yea just call a sparky.
Sods around here want $170 call out fee upfront just to drive over town & knock on the door.
Then add that to the repair.

Cost to run a van and also their time . Do you expect it for free ? YEAH RIGHT !

The nearest one of the string to the fuse board probably has a loose lead on a terminal

Test for earth nuetral link at power outlets first.
Then go from there.

Remove the first and the last socket get a tester and go from there it isnt rocket science.

You're allowed to do prescribed electrical work on a property you own, not for hire or reward.

Yep just as the call out fee.
One of the local Heat pump repairers wants $125.

Repairs are on top for both companys

I had a strange knocking noise start up in my heat pump and called out the technicians. Lucky as it turns out the 5 year warranty was just about to expire, so that and another creaking noise I didn't know was an actual problem got fixed for free. Yay!

Check your warranty.

Sort of, you are allowed to do some electrical work and any new work must be signed off by an inspector.
