Washing machine ties sleeves & legs in knots

gerry90, Aug 12, 3:34pm
I bought a new machine with no agitator - but all shirt sleeves and pants legs get tied up in a big, knotted bundle. Silly to separate them, I don't do 5 or 6 loads. Any suggestions please?

Ours does that. Good work out for your biceps.

You could put them in separate washing bags -from $2 shop. I find if I really load it up it is worse, better to have less clothing in the machine.

Mine ties sheets up unbelievably, no matter how I load them in

I was told to 'layer' what I put in the agitator free washing machine.

Like don't just dump everything in in one go.
Take the end of a towel & food it zigzag into E & put that flat over the bottom on the bowl, put other things flat, in.
Fold sheets up so they will fit flat.
Not in bundles.

It's helped for me.

Is the washing machine a top loader? It should be a front loader!

Take it back, who's got time for all that happening, that would do my head in.

Front loaders tumble the clothes a number of turns one way then a number of turns back the other way. So the clothes don't get tied in knots. Well, my front loaders work fine.

Damn I must have jinxed it.
I chucked a armfull of washing that hadn't dried from the clothesline into my washing machine so I could soon dry out the water that was at the bottom of the clothing.
I get it out today to put in the drier and one arm of a work jersey hadn't gone into the bowl properly.
So its rubbed against the top rim of the bowl and melted a slot into it.

Possibly overloaded. Has only happened once in 8 years for me and that clearly was the reason.
