Can you get different size hose connectors for tap

christin, Jun 16, 1:26pm
? I bought one of these. But thr hose that goes to the water tap outside seems too thin to fit onto thr connector - ie doesnr slot over the bit that goes onto the hose if that makes sense?

If so, where a good place fo get one? Thanks!

The hose internal dia should be 12mm. Yours looks smaller. If in doubt cut a piece off with a bread knife and take that and your fitting to Bunnings and ask them for what you need. ALSO take the screw on attachment that screws onto the tap itself as there are two sizes.

Thanks. Thought it looked smaller. It came with clamps which thr manual says to use but still doesn’t seem to fit, I’m not sure which end the green bit should go on as it fits thr unit and I think the hose tap outside,

Thought it would come with everything!

I think they use clamps but can’t see how that goes on a hose tap outside.

I think the clamps are for the pump. I assume or will work okay when on a hose without a pump. ? Some units are sold with no pump so assumed a garden hose outlet would be fine. ?

Yes, the pump is probably for if you are using it when camping and you don't have water pressure.

Maybe try putting the hose into hot water and it might soften a bit and stretch out.

Way too small, I tried cutting slits in the end. Nowhere near fitting

I think you are trying to put a 13mm hose on a 19 mm connector instead of a 13 mm connector. I find it easer to warm to hose in hot water first if having difficulty getting it on the connector.

Looking at your picture theres no way you are going to fit that onto a fitting designed for 12mm hose. You need to go to a specialist plumbers outlet like Mico Wakefield and get some sort of reducing adaptor or I have at times gone to a specialist hose/air compressor outlet .Bunnings/Mitre 10 dont really specialise much as that stuff dosent sell in big quantities for them.Been doing this stuff for 40+ years so I know what I,m talking about.

thanks. i pretty much realised i woudlnt get it on there. way too small. once i tried the slits i thought no way its going on.

i did look on the bunnings site before asking here. pity it doesnt come with two of them, obviously there is one for the heater end, so need another one of those. would have thought to put on a hose tap was pretty standard. esp as some of the models dont come with the pump so how else are you goign to get water into it?

thanks will try those places.

this was supposed to be a link to a pic above rather than my double up. sorry!

the other option is to put a standard hose on it. would that muck it up as theoretically mroe water is going into it. although i guess that could be juggled with the pressure.

its a standard size screw end so i could replace the given one that fits onto the small hose (one end only) with a standard one and replace the hose wtih a standard garden hose size?

I would go to a plumbers supply warehouse. Also let them know that gas is involved. take the advice sheet along.

thank you will do. i have emailed the place i got it from to see if they know where i can buy one. hopefully it will work on a tap toherwise its useless to me. id assume it can as one model was sold without pump but with hose. not sure where else the water would come from in that instance :-)
