this connector (see photo) was in the package with the hose, have no idea what it is for, was wondering if anyone could tell me.

you are giving us the thumbnail image. i.e. the small image that you click to show the large image, but for us it is not a clickable link only the image of it.
just cannot seem to get a bigger pic. sorry have to give up! thanks for your input.

Click on the thumbnail and when it is enlarged select and copy the URL (address) from the address bar then paste into your message.

Seems it is a fitting to connect to the tap and required in Korea or other countries.

I think it might be a fitting to use the hose on a tap without a thread - like you might have over the handbasin laundrytub or bath.
