I have a Meyer lemon which is approx 6 or 7 years old. Its watered, fertilized, sprayed for scale etc. so all good there. It produces a few lemons but where all the masses of flowers were earlier prior to christmas etc. there is just a bare stumpy end, you can see where all the we ends are, so whats happening? Not as dense with the leaves either. It gets sun later morning all afternoon. Does get alittle southerly wind, but not full blast because of other shrubs etc, all the pollinated flowers have gone? and just the stumpy ends left, which are green.
Do have another meyer lemon bush not too far away similar conditions and its laden with lemons and thick greenery. hmmmmmm?

You may just have a dud plant. I have about 7 asstd citrus planted around the property. All doing quite well apart from one (also a lemon). Its alive but thats about it. It hasnt put on any leaf growth since i planted it 3 years ago. It does set a few fruit but i pull them off when they are quite small as i want the plant itself to grow and not put all its energy into producing just a couple of fruits. I think im going to dig the poor thing out and get rid of it.

Could it be a pollination issue, I suspect so?
My mature lemon tree is smothered with flowers but not every flower turns into a lemon . thankfully.

Lemon trees need lots of water, maybe it's not getting enough?

This! Hard though if you have water restrictions or on tank water.
