Any advice please, red wine stains on white leather

Red wine on soft leather handbag, took it to the dry cleaners and said no way to clean it. I just wondered if anyone out there had any ideas! Thank you.

Ooh if it has dried in, it could well be there permanently.
Only thing I can suggest is to try rubbing with a bit of glycerine.was going to say white spirits, but the drycleaner would have recommended that if he thought it would work.

Bleach !

Fill an old sock with plain salt. Do not wet it! Place the sock over the stain and apply pressure until the salt absorbs the wine. Next pat gently with a damp cloth.

You should have licked it furiously as soon as it happened, the only way to go now is to give it a really hard suck.

Get your handbag dyed to match.

Thanks everyone, maybe too late to suck, but will certainly give the salty sock a go, failing that will have to look at the dye option.Daughter was given very expensive early Christmas present and could not wait to use it!Merry Christmas.

Sard wonder soap works well on wine stains on fabric so maybe give it a rub with that.Jif can also lift things by rubbing it off.We had a dark red juice stain come off our leather bar chairs over time.Bleach etc didn't shift it but it was gone about six weeks later.
