Are they sheltered from the wind! They need it really sheltered, as the leaves get wind burnt very easily.

Are you sure you are not getting its roots too wet in the pots. Mine and my neighbours dont seem to mind the wind but we lost one we planted in astoney, clay area which didnt drain very well. 3 years old may also be root bound and needs a change ofmix and a root trim!
