I live in Brisbane & are attempting to grow a Tamarillo tree. I live near the beach so soil is quite sandy. It's about 3ft tall. Near the bottom (about 4 inches up the stem, is an off shoot branch. Now at the top, it has branched out (so nothing growing straight up at this stage. I need to know when/where I need to pinch out the top or not. I really want this tree to grow. I miss Tamarillos so much. please advise how to look after it. Thanks. can't find any info online.
I know 1 local guy that had his tied nearer the top then staked to the ground so it was bowed over . I think he used a length of tyre inner tube to tie it to the stake . Nothing like picking and eating your way around a garden .
