like to grow some seedlings from. Do you have to plant just the seed or the whole fruit.Is their anything else I should know aboutgrowing them

They grow incredibly well from seed here in the Far North, I usually end up with several sprouting from where they have fallen, so that was the whole fruit. Why not try both, it would be an interesting experiment.

There are 4 seeds! in each fruit.they do grow from seed.but will take many many years to fruit.up to 15 if I recall.in ideal climates maybe less.
Love that fruit.makes the most wonderful golden jelly.delicious

throw the uneaten fruit in the ground last year, protected them from frosts, helpers :( etc and they are about half a meter tall now.

please! can someone let me have some seeds. the last ones I tried to grow - the horse actually got into the tunnel house & trashed 'everything'. & yes they grow & fruit in chch - I love them after growing up with a tree [in Auckland] that would have been planted at the turn of the century - they come from china.

you only need the one tree, where we lived we had the only tree for several blocks [at least].
