I'm a bit of (no an enormous) recycler (and possibly a scrooge!) and want to change my kitchen cabinets around to make better use of limited space. Would it be a bad idea to cut down my present cabinets/cupboards or do I have to buy new ones. I am able to buy new doors.

It will depend entirely on your skills, and condition of the original units.

So you would say if I took it to a cabinet maker it could be done. What could possibly go wrong!

What could possibly go wrong! You may receive a huge bill. Buy new flat pack from one of the hardware/diy stores
