Muscari Problem

kateley, Dec 6, 7:21am
hmm, don't look like muscari leaves to me.Damage looks like somethings been bashing it, rather that eating it.Maybe wind or a small boy with a stick

Aren't they liriopes! Looks to me like wind has got to them.

Isn't Muscari the grape hyacinth!
If so, it is a bulb and will be dying down now anyhow. They will reappear next year in the spring.

Yes, they are Liriope Muscari.I hadn't thought of wind . maybe!

Probably would benefit from being divided. Looks like a fairly large clump.
Suggest you do this towards the end of winter and cut back the leaves. This will promote new growth but reduce transpiration.

I suggest they are the older leaves and are about have their new growth. Mine have done that.

Muscari liriope and snails adore them. Try cutting them back to just above ground level late next winter and using plenty snail bait, while leaves are young and fresh. Should help.

It'll be snails for sure.Part the leaves with your fingers and look for snails low down hiding between leaves!Chuck snail bait in there. In winter do as maclad suggests.
