Do I remove the laterals or leave them there!

Up to you, although I would remove the lower ones and then let it branch up higher. If you leave them, They will need extra staking. The laterals can be poked in thr ground, as they will form new plants.

Leaving them on means more weight on the plant, not so great if blowing all the time like it is here today and without them you get better ventilation which helps prevent disease.

Like I said, leaving them on will require more staking. The takes can be placed as to receive maximum sunshine and air movement.

if you leave the laterals to do their thing, you will get more, but smaller, tomatoes.
if you take them off your plant will be more manageable and you will get larger fruit.
I left my laterals last year, but the plant was so untidy and tangled that it was a real pain to pick the tomatoes so a lot were wasted
this year I am removing all the laterals
