I have a big stump/ Log that has been used at my property as a bar leaner. (Was here when we moved in) it must weigh 150-200kgs. some of it has softened and is starting to rot. What would be the best method of disposal for an item like this? I am located in Christchurch.

Roll it out on the road late at night. Then call the council the next morning and say that some inconsiderate so an so has left a big hunk of tree out front of your house.

Drown it in 5 litres of kero then . . . a bit of heat then . . . . stand back
