Do they bolt to the floor or hang low on the wall? I'd prefer resting on floor as want to avoid vibrations in wall

Shouldn't cause any vibration. The indoor units only have a small fan to move your air through them, and they are designed to be as quiet as possible nowadays.

I have recently had one installed and I had the choice of either resting on the floor or at skirting board level. They are hung off the wall, not bolted to the floor. I decided it would be a pain to try to vacuum under if it was above floor level so got it on floor. No vibrations at all, anyway and a very quiet fan.

Mounted on the wall here - enough room under for the vacuum cleaner head. Cant hear a thing when it is running.
