Come on its 2015, you would have to be out of your mind to use Hardiglaze. Its the ugliest wet wall lining know to man kind.

Its long lasting if done properly. Its awesome stuff. They still make it, people still use it. Bang for buck buddy :)
Ive seen 10 year stuff, and ive seen ten year on tiles and the grout

I put the tile 6mm around the bath and the 4mm around the other walls and ceiling, Its so easy to keep clean and after 10 odd years it still looking like new. Its not cheap but when ya sick of it it would be much easy to to change to something else than pulling tiles.
Depends on what aorta house u have i suppose.

They still make hardiglaze because it's good for public restrooms, student flats and low price hotel/motels.

Most bathrooms will have a lightswitch, power point/shaver point, heated towel rail, it's aesy to earth it out of sight.

Hardiglaze - has a tile pattern and might not need plasterboard lining = saving.

Not necessarily within reach of the shower.

so your certified builder signed off your handyman waterproofing, brave man

They don't need to be in reach of the shower,A.C.P. is a good conductor,if you have it on your bathroom walls it needs to be earthed.

Not true.

Or stupid

pestri, Oct 13, 11:23pm
Never observed an earth ss shower tray,, or is that because I haven't been looking?

The only items in a house that require earthing are electrical fittings or electrical appliances. Lights, power points, oven, metal meter box etc.

No builder, whether certified or not can sign off waterproofing membranes. That can only be done by a certified applicator/tiler
