CLEANING LEATHER LOUNGE SUITE

harrislucinda, Apr 10, 10:42pm
mild body soap or white vinegar in water with bit of olive oil

harrislucinda, Apr 10, 11:55pm
I don't think body soap is dish liquid but Sunlight is mild

I'm not sure that sunlight soap would be a good thing to use regularly on leather- though probably OK for a "oncer". Saddle soap would be a better bet for long term use, and isn't all that expensive. After all, people have been using it to clean horse sweat and mud from expensive saddles and other harness for centuries.

until you can get to the store try the vinegar

Nappy wipes are brilliant!

ritebuy, Apr 21, 7:46pm
yes olive oil is the best for leather even an old jacket looks like new after a good wipe over with it

strack2, Apr 21, 9:48pm
After wiping to get dirt/grease off polish with a little beeswax. Comes up great.

I have had a cream harvey norman suite for more than 10 years. I only ever use a moistened, fine Micro-fibre cloth and nothing else. Most of the suite is in intense sunlight yet it has never cracked. Still looks like a new suite, clean as, no grime

Soap is not recomended for leather. I was told to always just use water and never with soap. You can buy leather conditioners etc.

Ditto for the moist microfibre cloth. Works well.

we_egg, Apr 26, 9:21pm
I just wipe mine over with damp cloth and then once a year cover it lightly in bees wax.

Where do you buy bees wax? Supermarket? Need to use it on a chopping board. TIA
