I've had a fig tree growing for two years - not sure what kind. About 6 fruit this year. I picked a fruit - it wasn't very sweet or moist. Tree is regularly watered - did I possibly pick too soon! Still some on tree - any advice appreciated.

did it droop down on the stalk! was it soft to squeeze! are there bird pecks in them! these are all signs of ripeness! they need lots of sun to sweeten, and amount of rain affects the taste too,too much rain makes them taste watery so perhaps they were too dry this year!

My figs havent really done anything this year, first time ever. i dont think its lack of water as figs grow in very dry places and people dont water them. Other years I havent had this problem
