ok its old but Id rather get it fixed than replace it. The thing doesnt stop the water flowing in so its overflowing unless I manually stop it, Lucky the thing is outside under the carport but its a pain in the A. Any idea! Im pretty handy and could do it myself if I knew what to do to fix it. Cheers

What make and model is it! Possiblyan air tube from a pressure sensor has failed or come adrift, so the controller doesn't know what the water level is!

Could be a water inlet solenoid. I had that problem (I cold wash 99% of the time) so the DH removed both the hot & cold solenoids & swapped them. Cold works perfectly again.

If your machine is an F & P Smartdrive, then you should get a new cold valve and replace the faulty one and put the hot valve back in the right place. The cold valve is a proportional one and the hot valve is on/off - i.e. they are not the same! Swapping is OK for a temporary fix but not long term!
