Hello, we are having a fence built using colour steel, does anyone know the price difference between plain and a colour. Any suggests on a colour for a back fence, thanks

Grey Friars. Blends in not at all with Friars Grey.

What the hell Resene? Our fence is one of those two, I can never remember which.

If your property is coastal, pay the extra for the heavier duty product with a protective paint system which is duly beefed up. Consider long run, horizontally fixed as less time to fit and looks nicer too. Colour is a subjective thing. Consider the surroundings and make your choice. Then again if you will be changing the surroundings then factor the colour of the fence to suit the changed layout etc. Personally I like a contrast. A darker colour will absorb more heat which may be good for the plants?

We recently bought coloursteel longrun roofing sheets - they were only about $20 or $30 more expensive per sheet, I think. We went for 'Ironsand' which is a warmer dark grey, looks great with white, or stone colours. goes with everything really.

Black fences are supposed to make your garden look bigger.

WE recently had our house reroofed for 16 k in zincalum. The colour steel would have been 10k more.
On the other hand colour steel is supposed to have a longer life. So 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. We just didn't have 10k more. But yes as someone has said, it is only coloured on one side.
