Kitchen to renovate

I am looking at renovating my kitcken as thedraws are starting towear and it needs a face lift.( like Me)!
Because the kitchen doors are Kauriand have been painted ,, I know what you are all thinking why paint kauri , but we did .
Has anyone had success with having the doors sprayedwith the lacquer look and easy to wipe down .
I don't want to spend a lot of money , simply because I really haven'tgot it to spend . Also looking at the kit set ones from Mitre 10but would have to geta builderto install as I would not be able to do that and think that would be a lot more expensive than having them sprayed .
Would love some advice . Happy New Year .

Modern kitchens no longer use doors, especially when modern heating and insulation are installed.

Essential to have doors on kitchen cupboards, who wants to look at the contents!
Family member had kitchen doors removed, sent away and resurfaced from timber (oak!) to a shiny painted surface ( Resene's Half Tea) , looks fab, cost $4000 for a large kitchen
I have just installed a U-shape kitset kitchen from Mitre10, total cost $3400 plus benchtop est another $1000. Easy enough though the drawer units were a bit tricky to put together. You need to factor in some custom made units as well, as the stock sizes may not exactly fit your space. Plus also the cost of removal and disposal of the old units, dump fees or skip hire etc . Noone really wants to buy anyone's old units, even on TM lucky to get $20!
You can paint most surfaces , sand then use primer before topcoats. Fiddly but if they are in good condition they come up well
Have you considered removing the paint ! There are good products to restore wooden surfaces like new

#1- I took your post to mean entry doors and not cupboard.

$55-65 a sqm for two pot, that,s in a prepared condition (they just spay it on, you've sanded it). Remember to allow for painting both sides of the door when you work out how many sqm.

Thanks everyone for your input . Would seem the best way and the most reasonableprice wise to go would beto have them sprayedand put new handles on them .

I see you're on the North Shore, it may be worth a chat with Mark at Earthwood in Helensville (google Earthwood) He paints and restores furniture, he might have some good advice.

Your other option may be to replace the doors and drawer fronts with new melteca parts from the likes of M10
