Replacing a toilet seat - HUGE problem!

lakeview3, Jul 16, 3:43am
Ok so we need a new toilet seat. The one I need is a simple one with two large plastic screws that go through the holes in the bowl part. Easy Peasy.

Mr LV went and got a new one today (a Caroma) but it’s one of those ones with all the frickin complicated fandangled things at the back and suddenly I am having flashbacks of a previous house where I had those kinds of toilet seats and they were a NIGHTMARE to clean with all the nooks and crannies associated with connecting the blardy thing to the bowl. I mean the Caroma one has metal screws FFS. What kind of idiot designs a toilet seat that has metal screws that are bound to get ‘sprayed’ on? (Not by me of course lol)

So the toilet we have is a Raymor Andorra but I cannot for the life of me find these anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I can call the Raymor people tomorrow but just wondering if anyone had any wisdom on the subject. Thanks!

You silly boy. Try sitting on the porcelain on a wintery morning, then tell her to leave it off.

Toilet train the "sprayers". Then you won't have a problem. It is not a normal thing to "spray" all over the back of the toilet seat. just saying.

Just reuse the big plastic screws.

Are you saying that the toilet bowl does NOT have two large holes near the back, to attach almost any kind of toilet seat?

You can get toilet seats that clip off for easy cleaning. Have just replaced mine with one.

All of them are a pita to clean. You take the plastic one off and see how much you miss cleaning around the connections. eeewww. I always undo it and remove it.

Still, if you don't like it, take it back and swap it for a different one.

I think firstly- make the sprayers clean the toilet- their job. If they don't do it properly, then they do it again, and again, till they get it right. Worked in my house. The makes jobs were the bathroom and toilet as they made the biggest mess.

For blokes, it's not normal to be a Sitzpinkler!

They'll be stainless steel - "stainless" - so you can tighten them up tighter than the plastic so the seat doesn't wobble around.

My pet dislike is seeing "kiss marks" on the top of the cover.
