Yes gloss is easier to clean, I only use Resene paints, go see them see what they have, my last house paint wasn't high gloss but still looks good after 5 years and no clean. Resene is great.
Comparison, pluses and minuses of each. And all I did was go to Mitre10, choose exterior paint, and tick gloss and semi gloss filters which bought up heaps of choices.

Wattyl Solagard was on sale at Mitre10 recently. I only use that.

I have always used Solagard gloss when painting my houses. Friends recently did theirs in gloss, so its still available. Most paint retailers will be able to tint colours from other brands into the one they have instore.
I wonder why 'harm_less' quoted an article from an Australian source that got it wrong in the first line after the heading? It uses the word advice twice instead of advice vs advise. Is it because that Australians have difficulty in spelling as well (beer is spelt xxxx in Queensland I understand)
I would quite believe it. When I sold my last house in 2011, the paint was around 8, possibly 9 years old, and still looked as good as when it was painted.

I bought 60 L Solagard from Placemakers, $83 per 10L pail. (40L roof, 20L wall) Should keep me happy for a while.
