A Ferrari motormower? :-)
Had to look that up. I see it has a plastic shell. Do the various engines all have the same mounting arrangements? Or will you end up drilling holes in the plastic shell.
Ask your local mower repair guy, you may need to see what will fit the existing mower chassis. Brand: well Honda is good, but you can't just buy anything . check what suits.

My lawnmowing guy saved quite a bit and bought one of the Chinese replacement engines. He says they have come a long way in the last few years and are really reliable.

If you want the best, buy honda. Briggs have been manufacturing which cost of manufacture being the primary concern for a long time. They make them reliable by making them have low power output.
The Suzuki 2 stroke engines are fantastic, but quite old now.

Yep, got a budget mower here & the OHV engine is brilliant but the body is a crappy design

My terminology maybe a bit ambiguous. In my view if you have to push the mower around it is a push mower, engine or not.
if you can get a suzuki 2 stroke and put a 12 mill spacer under it you will have a great mower thats what i used contracting they are only available second had but are brilliant motors

Have a self propelled Testarossa fitted with a Briggs & Stratton engine. Only catch around 5 lawns a fortnight so still going strong. Was stolen in December a few years ago and the idiot listed it on Trademe the following February. I turned up to view it then rang the police. Got it back no worries.👍🙂

Jeese. chuck the old mower away and get a new Masport. Made in NZ. they've got everything from the el cheapos to commercial self propelled ones with Kawasaki or Honda motors.

Dont buy a kohler, or a chinese engine. Make sure the engine you buy isnt side valve as the oil doesnt get there properly. Brigs stratton was my choice mounting holes fitted and it hasnt missed a beat.a lot of chinese engines dont have de compressors, you get what you pay for.
