We've got a new fridge arriving. The space for it to fit into is a bit tight. I'm wondering if I can remove the pink side panel from the cabinet next to the fridge, to make more room. I can see the screw covers inside the cabinet next to it, and remove them to remove the screws, but is it likely to be glued as well? Will the cabinet next to it still be stable without it?
Suggest you take a pic showing all the blue 'whatever' and the high shelving holding those cans etc. It looks like the pink panel is holding up the shelving. Are the screws though the pink panel into the pink shelving unit?

You don't show enough in the photo. Usually the full length panels are holding the weight of overhead cupboards.
Also it will be covering the plain white panels of the cabinets, and their fixing screws.
Interesting colour scheme though.

As said, it may be providing support for the overhead cupboards but there are plenty of overhead cupboards that hang on the wall just fine without an end panel. Try taking the panel out, and if the cupboards seem to need support, maybe a thinner panel of customwood(which you could paint to suit) could be fitted.

My new kitchen was to have cupboard over my fridge and side panel like yours. I asked for no side panel, and kitchen fitter then refused to put cupboard up, so I would say your panel does have a purpose. Love the pink!

I took the plunge and removed it and the cabinet next to it appears to be fine - it's got another one on the other side to help it stay upright!
It only has to hold together for however many months (please not years, please not years!) until we rejig our kitchen. I should have clarified that it wasn't the overhead cupboard I was worried about (that clearly had to be removed) but the cupboard next to it.
There was a minor holdup because of course there were screws behind the kickplate where I couldn't get at them, but brute force dealt with that!
Thanks for all your help :-) (I love the pink too - along with the red, orange and blue, and the turquoise/red/pink/orange/blue- 1950s space-age pattern benchtop :-D )
