Another project I've got on is getting some rot fixed in the ply under a deck. (The deck has a butynol covering, that failed along a seam.)
After that work is done, I'd like the extra protection of one of those spray-on deck coatings. There are people who spray something like an epoxy with glass fibre mixed in; the deck ends up basically fibreglassed.
I'd appreciate a recommendation for a company, from someone who's had this kind of work done.
Very few "coatings" will tolerate the expansion/contraction from sun. Certainly garage floor coatings are a waste of time outside. The only way is to ensure that the joints are so incredibly secure and then coat with epoxy sheathing (as per grp on boats) and paint it with the likes of Resene Cool-color to minimise expansion.
Keeping deck surfaces looking new in the NZ sun is a nightmare.
