I planted a pomegranate in Chch . It grew Ok but in 6-7 years didn't show any sign of flowering so I whacked it out. I only know they love Perth;s climate which is not generally frosty and has lots of winter rain and hot summers. You will surely love the figs - if you've got a good one!

Well the poster is in Canterbury and you are in Auckland, too totally different climates.
