Do you still need the springs connected if you have a motorised door ? I can't see why they could'nt be disconnected ?

Be very careful that you don't unscrew anything unless you know what you are doing. You could be severely injured.

The springs are there to compensate for the weight of the door. If you remove the springs, I doubt that the motor would still work and if it did, it would probably burn out from the extra load.

Watch your tilt door open and close, watch the springs and then you will see what they do.

I have a tilt a door with electric opener and have removed the springs with no problems, on a single garage door. if you are removing them do it when the door is closed i.e. springs not under tension.

When my tilt door is closed, the springs are under full tension, which would be the most dangerous time to remove them.

My old one was the same . The springs assist the door to lift. We fitted an electric opener and just left the springs in place.
IIRC the springs were adjusted when the door was fitted to be close to neutral at the half up/half down point.

No need to remove the springs they will help to take the load off the motor when opening the door .
