Hi I am wanting to know if someone can help me acquire some Kumarahou leaves and florrets and maybe some small seedling shrubs for me to attempt to grow them in Feilding. Athough its meant to grow well up North, we had one yrs ago that lasted a few yrs before it died. Please email me if you can help. I will pay all costs to help me. Thanking you all. I got some seeds yesterday. Remind me in a month or so and we'll see what came up. Apparently they're easily germinated. They look like viola seeds, so no messing around like other natives at least.

I took the seeds off a plant here. I think its one of those plants that DoC encourage people to plant because in the wild it is very rare that it regenerates by itself. But reports so far are that it is easy to germinate, will reseed itself once established, and is "shortlived". So we'll see. Apparently they like very poor heavy clay soil, humidity and heat, which in Auckland is just about everywhere. A few months ago it was flowering and the cream florets look really striking against the matt hunter green foilage.
