Aluminium vs wooden front doors

we currently have an aluminium front door, and in winter you can feel the cold air coming from it, just wondering if you replaced it with a wooden door it would be better or do we need to do something different? thanks

Is it cold air from around the door or is it the aluminium feeling cold on the inside ?

A wooden door would not be as cold to the touch.

We have an aluminium clad wooden front door, it used to get so much sun on it that the paint fell off and the wood deteriorated quickly, I still needed to seal the edges to stop draughts through.

Aluminium will conduct heat (cold) better than wood but you would think that it is 'insulated' (like thermal break joinery). Should last longer than wooden doors, with no maintenance.

ours probably doesnt get any sun at all, summer has no issues but when you go near the door you can feel the draughts, i also think you can see through the door which i know wouldnt help but in the winter the door is freezing to touch, so wondering if we'd be better off with a wooden one

its an old show home house so not sure how well insulted the door is (may have been done on the cheap when the house sold), im pretty sure you can see through some of the cracks in the door but wondering if wood would keep the heat in more, ive got some sealing around the door to do as well,

The draughts can probably be fixed by adjustment of hinges and lock but a wooden door would not transmit so much cold to the inside.

bit of both really, we want something to keep the heat in and cold out, its cold to touch but think there might be air coming in through cracks in the joinery or round the outside

We have a wooden front door but it has aluminium framing which is not what I wanted. I wanted all wooden framing too. When is really blows it whistles. The other double door off the kitchen is all aluminium and it is much colder and way more drafty. The aluminium door in the laundry is also very drafty. If I had the money I would rip out all the aluminium door joinery and replace with timber joinery and timber doors. Our home is 2 years old. .
