If you have, how effective was it?

Very effective on small tree stumps and shrubs

I have used this for years. Works well on bamboo. Have just bought my second lot. Just follow directions on label - cut close to ground at a node and immediately apply gel. I think it is composed of a double strength glyphosate. Has kept my neighbour's running bamboo in reasonable check.

I have running bamboo which forms a shelter belt. It is the bits popping up beyond it in garden and lawn where it isn't wanted that concern me.
I am wondering/concerned, if I apply to rogue pieces a few metres away from shelter belt, whether it will kill off a lot of the bamboo in the belt.

That sounds like a similar situation to me. I have put the gel on any rogue pieces. Certainly knocks them but main shelter belt appears unaffected. The gel seems to be sucked into the growth enough to kill it but doesn't seem to travel up the 'runner' much. Have been doing this for some years now.
