All my apple tress have had their leaves turn brown and withered looking on one side only. This is extensive and was the side that was exposed to the storm this week. Could this be the cause or something more sinister?

I googled it and it sounds like 'fire blight' but I am not sure if this exists in NZ or Australia?

How far away from the coast are you? It could be burnt from salt.

About 2 km. But I did notice after I picked up a fallen apple off the ground, that it tasted salty. So you may be right!
