if it's just a blue tint don't be concerned it should disappear on your spirit run.

Copper still!

Hi :) nup its a real bright blue and boy does it stink of ammonia . i went into the brew shop today and he said something about the copper in the top of the shaft needs to be soaked in white vinegar, so am going to do that tomorrow :) but i think it was my fault putting the yeast in while it was still to hot :(

nite_possum, Dec 7, 3:06pm
net_oz it has copper at the top of the shaft that the wash/spirits goes through the rest is steel :)

putting the yeast in while still too warm will only kill the yeast. the blue sounds like copper sulphate!maybe just a cleaning is needed! keep the product and then clean still and then put it thru again! or add it to the next! maybe.
