I want to buy a rotary tool for a few small jobs. Don't really want to go to the expensive Dremel and are looking at something like the Ozito or similar price. Any advice on which brand or model. Thanks.

I have the Ozito. perfectly fine for the few jobs I needed. which was more like hobby stuff than DIY. Most of the tools in it appear to have no real purpose like wee grinding stones etc. The little sanding wheels are awesome though.

Had both, i bought the ozito to replace the dremel, which had broken its lock pin, so couldn't tighten up bits in it. However after a few uses the ozito is ready to do the same. I found the diamond and tungsten bits included in the kit very handy, slow process, but used them to cut off the head of a stuffed bolt, in a recessed spot. For average use, either is fine, just remember they do not like it, if you need bits very tight. Ps, the dremel went up in a cloud of smoke some after getting ozito.

There is a Fuller 165 piece kit that Mitre 10 do for around $90. Not bad value if it isn't going to be put to too much hard work.

I bought one of those and am very happy with it. I was able to cut off a barely accessible nut on an exhaust manifold that was a nightmare to get to with anything else.
