I asked the same question a couple of weeks ago, as they had settled in my lavender and mint. Apart from a brisk hose down no other tried and true remedies were suggested. I took to killing them by hand, which seemed to work.

They are quite clever to have developed that way of protecting themselves and I dont think i have seen them actually damage stuff! hosing them or hand picking them as mentioned great ways to eradicate

The easiest way is between fore finger and thumb.with gloves on.

Just squirt a fair amount of dish liquid into a spray bottle- top up with water and spray onto the plants- complete coverage. I had serious investation in my strawberries this year and managed to kill 95% off with first application and just got the last few a day later. Havent had any return since :-)
