Refitting shower lining

bill1451, Feb 28, 9:15am
Just ripped out the 20 something year old hardiglaze shower, am going to line with gib aqualine and then fit 3 sided acrylic liner, which is 1850 high
What to do with the 500mm or so gapbetween liner and ceiling, just paint with acrylic or turps based enamel and same for shower ceiling, your thoughts thanks

Yep.
Put bathroom sealant around the top of the liner after painting.

A white wall tile will have less maintenance than paint.

We just painted it. Lasted about 5 years without any maintenance. Then we put a shower dome in so now it doesn't get exposed to any damp - only spiders!

Shower dome for us too. Not 100% effective as per their claims, but certainly keeps the heat and moisture in, but ours gathers dust. We made it removable for easy cleaning.

Tile or paint. Your choice.

the dust drove us crazy with showerdome so going for the Steamstopper (opaque and not screwed in - anyone tried it?).

Wouldn't touch acrylic paint in a bathroom (including enamels). Stick with oil based enamels, Resene Lustaglo or Dulux Super Satin. Peter
