Pricing ideas for replacing shower linings

I have 2 full sized sheets, seratone? floor to ceiling and full width which is something like 1.5 m. They are rotting at the bottom and both need replacing due, I think, to water getting between the board and the plastic fitting strip at the bottom where there is a small gap. I cannot do this myself so will need a builder and am asking as I have a clause in my insurance policy restricting repairs to those only over $1000.

I don't think it would be covered by insurance because it will be gradual damage.

If it can easily be replaced, a builder should be able to do it for under $1000 anyway.

Another question as I really cannot afford to replace these linings due to so many unexpected bills, e.g. dentist, (costly). Is it possible to remove a portion of the linings at the bottom, say 6" to 12", put in a new plastic joiner and replace just the rotting linings leaving it looking the same on both walls.

you can but it wont fix the problem
probably as much work as replacing the lot
