How to re direct water within spouting?

most people would never bother.
you could cress the bottom sheet a bit so the hole is lower down. only needs to be a few mm, just so water does sit at the end.

How long did the old one take to rust? I don't think you need to worry about your new bit, the rest will rust out before that will.

But I think I've told you before, you need to bend down the ends of the five rib, to let the water drip off instead of running back up under the sheets.

It doesn't need such a big turn down, just 20-30deg would be fine.

I can't see properly but do you have the new section sitting on top of the old guttering so that the water will flow under the new section and lay there increasing the rust potential. Please don't tell me you have siliconed it as that will just peel off within a couple of years.Don't worry about the bit of water laying in the gutter,it will just evaporate away.
