Hot water pressure

We recently had a log burner with wetback installed (although we haven't had this on yet as we are waiting on the CoC to be issued). Low pressure system.

Plumbing was replaced, (was an existing wetback system that hadn't been used in years) including the pressure reducing valve which was faulty - since then the hot water pressure in the shower in down to a trickle.

Even the cold water pressure has gone down however the hotter the water the least pressure there is. Any ideas?

Could be any number of different problems. The pressure reducing valve might not be set high enough, but they are usually fine out of the box. Or there could be an air lock in the pipework, since the cylinder was drained & refilled.

You should have contacted the plumber as soon as you noticed the problem and discuss your concerns with them. Would have been best if you did that before you paid their bill.

Why?

It will spew hot water out all over your roof you know, you can't regulate it.
And in summer, you're not going to be heating it with the fire are you.

How far away from the cylinder output is the tempering valve. ?
These units don't like very hot/boiling water and should be at least 1-2 metres
from this point in the hot water line.

break open the piggy bank & splash out on a mains pressure hot water cylinder with a wet back as well. you'll love the difference in the shower
