i have a small low light level bathroom that has a concrete floor and wall construction, it feels a bit damp and lifeless. what i was thinking was that i could put in a wall mounted garden to try and decrease the damp feeling the air has. i know i can have an aloe vera plant in there as thats what i have now but what sort of other plants can i have in there? i was thinking those adorable little succulents, the ones with the plump looking leaves. ive tried google but couldnt really find anything for new zealand.
thank you for the two links they were a good read :) we do have intentions of putting in a skylight once the roof gets replaced but the room is on the south side of the house so i honestly dont think itll make too big a difference in the way of direct sunlight but rather just light because its daytime, if that makes any sense lol. the hubby said i could plant lettuces since they like the shade hahaha

Ferns usually do well in bathrooms. also, have you thought about using a dehumidifier to remove the dampness?

I think the Maidenhair fern would probably be ideal in this situation. See
mmm - Plants exist by drawing water and nutrients from the soil, and evaporating water from their leaves.
It is a cycle, and although there will be water in the plant, any water take up will be matched by evaporation.
Damp and chilly? Better ventilation or a dehumidifier are your best bets.

Seems to me that op is looking for plants that will make the bathroom more attractive, hence my suggested maidenhair fern; if she wants to use the damp atmosphere perhaps the op would be interested ?
Google keywords " New Garden Trend: Air Plants " Could be very interesting, as they have no roots and gain their nutrients from the air

OOOOPS, I see the air plants need strong sunlight, or could be grown under a Grow Lamp.
