Was going to lay some weed mat around the perimeter of my section and lay some sleepers out. followed by stones or bark chips. wondering what's best . As I see there is different types.

Yes mum used old carpet. wonder how it compares to the actual weed mat.

But it rots very quickly, making it unacceptable as a weed mat.

I have had better success with carpet than weedmat. No old forgotten bulbs have come up through the carpet the way they have in the weedmat, oxalis has continued to grow under the weedmat and pokes out from under it but not with the carpet.

I did a garden over a year ago, put riverstone on top and the carpet is still holding up well.
