Moving Christmas Lillies - Help

leesil, Aug 31, 12:03am
Hi there, I'm moving house in about 6 weeks and I would like to unearth all of my Christmas Lillies to take with me. I know it's not an ideal time to do it. fingers crossed that they survive.
My question is should I lift them dirt and all and store them in buckets or should I lift them and air them out ready for replanting? Most years they start showing signs of growth around the end of September.

Mine in the Waikato are coming up now so I'd think yours were stirring into life too. I would lift them now with as much dirt as possible & put them in good sized containers & keep them watered. I definitely wouldn't let them dry up. I think you'll be ok. Good luck.

They will be absolutely fine if moved now and replanted/potted straight away, even if the soil falls off. Go for it.

So long as they are just coming through. The bigger they are the more they will wilt
