I agree with Red Robin as well. Botanical name is Photinia. Fast growing and gorgeous colour. Easy chopped back and grow away again. Feijoa is also a good idea. They are also reasonably fast growing. Phebalium has a habit of the odd one failing for no apparent reason. Also they stink and get really tall with woody bottoms. There is a hedge here and we have to use a 6 foot ladder to trim the top as all the foliage is up high .

If you want speed, make sure you plant them in fantastic soil and they will grow much faster. Its worth buying some garden booster to add to what you have.
