How to dispose of sand?

trogedon, Dec 28, 2:25am
We have 3/4 meter of builder's sand I bought some years ago for a sandpit. I want to get rid of it. What to do with it? We're in West Auckland

Whatch The Shawshank Redemption, It shouldn't take you more than a year or two to get rid of it using that method,

I'm sure if you list it on Trade Me someone will be happy to take it away and make a use of it

OP do you have a garden , if so just spread it then dig it in , good for braking up glay based soils , but will help any garden as it helps the roots grow as the soil does not compact as much , with the extra sand it it , also helps the soil drain more .
Cheers .

Use it to level hollows and dips in your lawn. I think most grasses will grow up through it.

dig a hole and bury it

golfdiver, Dec 28, 7:59pm
You don't need to rent it, it's on continuous loop on TV 2

exwesty, Dec 28, 8:46pm
You could take it on a trip to a beach.

elect70, Dec 29, 4:04am
Drill a big hole in boot of your car & load it in & go for a long drive .

trogedon, Dec 29, 6:11am
We don't have a TV.

trogedon, Dec 29, 6:12am
Good idea but your car would be better to use. there'll be a handy rust hole in it.

groovie1, Dec 29, 6:24am
Ring a kindy in or close to your neighbourhood and see if they want it.

Try your local garden center, might be able to swap it for something useful.

ryanm2, Dec 29, 7:54am
Just wait for a windy day and chuck it up in the air. 1 or 2 handfuls at a time, it doesn't matter.

trogedon, Dec 29, 8:01am
I'll wait until the wind is blowing in the direction of the neighbour (s) we don't like.

tub4, Dec 29, 8:27am
I'm sure there'll be someone out there more than happy to take it from you, just need to get it out there so they know

kaylin, Dec 30, 3:53am
Advertise it! I need some for my chook coop, it's hard to find cheap sand.

trogedon, Jun 25, 2:07pm
