Should I oil the new kwila decks?

I have Cabot's kwila deck natural oil. not sure whether or not to use it. Hubby not keen, I just want to make sure it is as protected as possible.

When they are new they will bleed a lot of sap when it rains,so it may be wasted to oil them so soon. Wait untill a few months of rain before you do anything, but if you do you will need to repeat it anually.

I stained mine as soon as I built it 2 yrs ago and have put another two coats on it this year. I did not have any bleeding and used the Caboults kwila deck oil.

And. can I use a roller or should I use a brush?

I had a new kwila deck late 2012, I left it for a year, the sap did bleed out, when it started to look a bit wishy washy, about another year later, I gave it two coats of cabouts kwila oil. I am going to give it another two coats in a few weeks. I used the sheepskin thing on a pole, you can get them from mitre 10 or bunnings.
It is really easy to do and really does not take much time, Mine had a good wash with deck cleaner I let it dry did all the bits that are fiddly with a brush and the rest is just like mopping the floor.

It looked brilliant, I am looking forward to doing it again

As Dansac says no hurry let it weather a bit , mines been down about ten years every couple of years I give it a clean with deckwash and slop on some Cabots Aquadeck still looks mint.
