Just washed white shirts and they have a grease/oil mark on after being washed. Second time this has happened, Does this mean a seal or something has gone-any ideas anyone?

Google - grease on clothes from washing machine. Also I bought from The Warehouse, 2 sachets of washing machine cleaner for about $4.00. Also do you ever give your machine a baking soda and vinegar hot wash, thats supposed to give machine a dam good clean.

What is the make & model No. of your machine? Some machines don't have gear boxes with oil that can leak out these days. It could be the scum that builds up & goes black. It will leave black spots on white clothes & looks like oil spots.

Can also use Dishwash powder to run an empty wash through the machine. Works well

Most modern washing machines are direct drive now.

Awesome-thanks all. Do periodic hot washes but haven't for a while so will give that a try. Thanks heaps.

Good luck Melinda. - i found this was happening, but only noticeable when the washing was dry. Turned out the Mr had greased the spindle in the centre of the rotary clothes line, and the clothes were flapping against it in the breeze. :)
