that's cause architects fall into the marketing trap from Hardies. they do such a good job marketing the product (mind you who wouldn't with squillions of $$$$$$$ behind them)

Don't worry,they wouldn't use it if had a flaw and failed in one of their designs. They have their reputation on the line as well.

Make sure he uses the 50x50mm galv angles in the corners before cladding.
Remember do NOT glue the Villaboard if tiling it.
Nail off the perimeter at 150mm centers and 200mm on intermediate framing.
You will have a solid job (far better than gib) that will last for years.
